Create From OS Template
To get started with creating from an OS template:
- Go to the course, then the Desktops menu
- Click "Create From OS Template"
Here you'll see the different options available when creating from an OS template
Below is an explanation of each field:
-
GPU Model
Select the GPU model and type, if you need one. Tick the 'Display GPU enabled servers' checkbox to show only servers with GPUs available. -
Datacentre / Server
Choose the datacentre region and server closest to your location in New Zealand. -
OS to clone from
Operating System (OS) templates include Windows, Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Almalinux, among others). -
Include custom, old, beta & rc Versions
DaDesktop updates templates regularly, but if you're having issues with the latest template, you can try an older version here. -
CPU
Choose the number of CPU cores you need. Note: the default is 8 cores, which is generally fine for most standard Linux and Windows setups. -
Memory
Select how much memory (in GB) the desktop should be limited to. Keep in mind that you're limited by the server's resources – each server may have different memory limits. If you need to bump up these limits, get in touch via our Support Chat. -
Disk Space
Choose how much disk space to allocate. The default is 50 GB.
