Use Desktop after Course Finishes

A neat feature of DaDesktop is that learners can easily keep using their course machine for extra practice after the course finishes. Near the end, participants receive an email asking whether they’d like to continue using their desktop machine once the course is over.

 

Each participant's course desktop is normally removed shortly after the course ends. If you'd like to keep your desktop to practise the lab work from the course, you can clone your course desktop into a 'Standalone Desktop' to use the machine afterwards.

Simply go to your Course and your Desktop machine, then click the 'Use desktop after course' button next to your machine.

 

Next, DaDesktop explains the simple process and lets you 'Enable' this operation.

Once enabled, you’ll see the following shown next to your course machine.

To access your Standalone machine after the course has ended, click the Standalones menu at the top of your screen.

Machines that haven’t been used for a month will be removed, but an advance email is sent out to warn users, giving them plenty of notice if they wish to keep using any Standalone machines they have.
